Lucy Lawless hails from New Zealand and is an actor also a musician, singer, and performer. She is best known for the roles she took on in several high-profile television and movie series, such as Xena Warrior Princess and Spartacus Blood and Sand. In all of her roles as an actress her work was praised and remembered for her amazing portrayal of the character Xena. This role was initially intended to be played by the actress Vanessa Angel but ultimately went to Lucy as she was unable to attend the shooting due to illness. The way Xena was depicted, and how it was given the due to, it later became one of the top-rated shows in the world of television at the time the series was airing along with other shows. In September of 1995 it was announced that a spinoff would be created in her character Xena. After the spin-off's release, the show received another blow in its ratings as well as a cultural impact and made the series be on for 6 seasons. This helped increase Lucy's popularity as an actress. Lucy is not just well-known to the public as Xena but also for her recurring part in the role of Diane Lewis Swanson on NBCs popular comedy Parks and Recreation which she played from 2012 until the year 2015.
